According to the court, the duration of imprisonment already undergone was not, by itself, sufficient to justify suspending the sentence. The court observed that the seriousness of the offence, the nature of the crime, and the convict&#8217;s criminal background did not warrant such relief. The appeals against the conviction remain pending before the High Court, and further legal proceedings will continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Action to Be Taken<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The judicial process should continue without undue delay so that appeals in serious criminal cases are decided promptly.
