According to reports, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near a supermarket at Kodannur Centre, where the couple had gone to purchase items. The accused, identified as 25-year-old Ashwin of Kodannur, allegedly attacked Vaishnavi and Arun following animosity towards Vaishnavi.
