The Court held that where a wife had voluntarily waived monetary claims in a matrimonial settlement, those waived claims could not subsequently be revived through DV Act proceedings. The Court also clarified that the adult daughter&#8217;s independent rights were not extinguished because she was not a party to the settlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Action to Be Taken<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Women facing domestic violence should document complaints and seek qualified legal assistance rather than relying only on informal settlements.
