The two had been accused of abusing and threatening the woman who filed the rape complaint and attempting to persuade or compel her to withdraw it. In an order dated 13 October, Justice Suraj Govindaraj concluded that the circumstances did not warrant putting the mother and son through a criminal trial. The ruling concerns the proceedings against those two petitioners; it does not, by itself, establish whether the underlying rape allegation is true or false.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Action to Be Taken:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Women who experience sexual violence or pressure to withdraw a complaint should seek legal assistance and report intimidation to the authorities.
