Karoor : Two women was allegedly assaulted and one of their mobile phone was damaged after she confronted a group that allegedly harassed her and her friend along Chakkalappadam Road in Kaloor during the early hours of Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to police, the incident occurred around 4 a.m. when the woman and her friend were returning to their room after completing a part-time job. The duo was allegedly subjected to eve-teasing by an eight-member group, which included two women. The accused reportedly made indecent comments and gestures towards the women. When the victim questioned the behavior and began recording a video of the incident on her mobile phone, one of the men allegedly turned violent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police said that the victims were kicked in the chest and one of them were brutally assaulted. and they are admitted to a hospital for treatment. The Ernakulam Town North Police have registered a case under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police officials said an investigation is underway and CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify and apprehend those involved in the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
