The accused, identified as Rahul P. Ashok (38), a resident of Chekkalamukku, was taken into custody by the Sreekaryam Police following an investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to police, the incident came to light in March 2026 when a female employee noticed a suspicious device concealed inside a waste bin in the washroom used by staff members. Upon closer inspection, the device was found to be a hidden camera connected to a power bank, apparently set up to record videos without the knowledge or consent of those using the facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The employees immediately informed the management and later filed a complaint with the Sreekaryam Police. Investigators subsequently examined the device and launched a probe to determine who had installed it and whether any footage had been recorded or stored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police said the accused went into hiding after learning about the complaint. He later approached the court seeking anticipatory bail, but his plea was rejected. Following this, a police team tracked him down and arrested him from his hideout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the investigation, officers learned that the washroom was regularly used not only by women employees of the printing press but also by staff members from nearby establishments and, on some occasions, customers visiting the premises. This has raised concerns about the possibility that multiple individuals may have been affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities are continuing efforts to recover the memory card and other digital storage devices believed to be linked to the camera. Police said a detailed forensic examination will be conducted to determine whether any footage was recorded, stored, or shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The accused has been booked under relevant provisions of the law dealing with privacy violations and offences against women.
