16-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Abducted by Friends; Youths Arrested 

kozhikode: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly abducted after leaving her home at night. Following a complaint filed by her family, the Chevayur Police launched an investigation and traced the girl safely. Three youths, who were reportedly friends of the girl, were arrested in connection with the alleged abduction. During the initial inquiry, the girl stated that she had not been sexually assaulted or administered any intoxicating substance. Police continued the investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. 

Action to be Taken: 

 The police should conduct a thorough investigation to establish whether the minor was taken against her will and whether any offences under child protection laws were committed. The survivor should receive appropriate counselling and support services, and her statement should be recorded in a child-friendly manner. Authorities should strengthen awareness among children and parents regarding online interactions and missing-child reporting mechanisms, while ensuring that all those found responsible are prosecuted under the relevant provisions of law.
