16-year-old girl gives birth; man arrested under POCSO
Malappuram: A 16-year-old girl was taken to a private hospital after experiencing severe abdominal pain and was found to be pregnant. She subsequently gave birth while receiving treatment. Police arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the case and registered proceedings under the POCSO Act. The investigation is continuing.
Action to Be Taken
Suspected sexual offences involving children should be reported immediately so that the child can receive medical care, protection, counselling and legal support without exposing her identity.
