23 year old fled after getting a minor girl pregnant
Kozhikode: The suspect in the rape and impregnation of a young girl has been taken into custody by the police. Shalu (23), also referred to as “Cousin Shalu” and a native of Koodathayi, Thamarassery, was taken into custody.
A police team under the command of Elathur Inspector K R Ranjith took him into custody. According to the complaint, he repeatedly raped the girl by giving her drugs after pretending to be in love and earning her trust. Both the girl’s and her friend’s homes were the sites of the rape.
The accused turned off his cell phone and fled when the girl became pregnant, but the police found him and arrested him after learning that he had secretly returned home. Shalu was brought before the court and placed under remand after being charged in multiple criminal cases.
