E-Rickshaw Driver Arrested in Alleged Sexual Assault Case Following Police Operation

Uttar Pradesh: An e-rickshaw driver has been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 27-year-old woman at a hotel in Aligarh. According to police, the woman had arrived in the city by bus and was looking for accommodation when the accused allegedly offered to help her find a hotel. Authorities stated that after she checked into the room, the accused allegedly entered the room without permission and sexually assaulted her before fleeing. Following the woman’s complaint, police registered a case and launched a search operation. Police said the accused was later traced using CCTV footage and electronic surveillance. During the operation, the accused allegedly opened fire on the police, after which he was apprehended and admitted to hospital with injuries. The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations remain subject to legal proceedings.
