Thiruvananthapuram: A Fast Track Special Court sentenced a 46-year-old bus conductor to five years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹15,000 following his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor girl. According to the prosecution, the offense took place inside a crowded private bus operating between Vellanad and East Fort, which the victim regularly used for her school commute. The matter was brought to light later during a psychological evaluation after the trauma affected her well-being. Following a trial evaluating the evidence presented by the prosecution and law enforcement units, the judiciary found the accused guilty of the charges and directed that the fine and legal aid compensation be provided to the survivor.
