Kozhikode: A 49-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to murder his wife after he walked into a police station and confessed that he had killed her. According to police, the accused arrived at the Vellayil Police Station late on Tuesday night and claimed that he had strangled his 48-year-old wife to death. Although officers initially doubted his statement, they accompanied him to his residence to verify the claim. Upon reaching the house, police found the woman alive but injured with neck injuries. She was immediately shifted to the Government Beach Hospital and later referred to the Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment. Police stated that her condition is stable and that the injuries are not life-threatening. Preliminary investigation suggests that the alleged attack followed an ongoing family dispute. The accused has been arrested on charges of attempted murder, and the investigation is ongoing.
