Ernakulam: Police have registered a case against a man and his wife for allegedly assaulting his sister after accusing her of stealing a gold chain. According to police, the incident occurred at Nandikulangara in Paravur, where the woman was allegedly beaten by her brother and sister-in-law. During the investigation, police found that the chain was imitation jewellery and that the theft allegation had allegedly been fabricated to avoid repaying ₹1 lakh owed to the victim. A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing. The allegations remain subject to legal proceedings.

Action to Be Taken

Family disputes should be resolved through lawful means without resorting to violence or false accusations. Victims of assault should report such incidents promptly, and authorities should investigate complaints thoroughly while ensuring appropriate legal action where warranted.
