High Court Rejects Plea to Suspend Sentence of Convict in Actress Assault Case

Ernakulam: The Kerala High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Sunil N.S., also known as Pulsar Suni, seeking suspension of his 20-year prison sentence and bail in the 2017 actress assault case. According to the court, the duration of imprisonment already undergone was not, by itself, sufficient to justify suspending the sentence. The court observed that the seriousness of the offence, the nature of the crime, and the convict’s criminal background did not warrant such relief. The appeals against the conviction remain pending before the High Court, and further legal proceedings will continue.
