Temple Priest Arrested for Alleged Rape and Cheating Woman of ₹7 Lakh 

Thiruvananathapuram: Police in Thiruvananthapuram arrested a temple priest after a woman accused him of repeatedly sexually assaulting her and cheating her of nearly ₹7 lakh by exploiting her trust under the guise of offering spiritual guidance. The police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation to gather evidence and determine whether there are any other victims.  

Action to be Taken: 
The investigation should thoroughly examine all financial records, electronic evidence, and witness statements. The survivor should be provided with medical care, counselling, legal assistance, and protection throughout the investigation and trial. If the allegations are proven in court, strict legal action should be taken against the accused. Public awareness campaigns should also educate people about recognizing and reporting exploitation carried out under the guise of religious or spiritual authority.
