Nine Women Rescued from Human Trafficking Racket

Navi Mumbai: Acting on specific intelligence regarding commercial sex work operating out of Hotel Abode Inn Lodging and Boarding in Taloja, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Navi Mumbai Crime Branch set a trap on July 18. Investigators dispatched a decoy customer to the establishment, where the lodge manager offered a female companion in exchange for ₹3,000. Once the money was accepted by a staff member and the deal was confirmed, the decoy signalled the waiting law enforcement team, who immediately raided the premises. 

Actions to be Taken:  

Intensify anti-trafficking intelligence and regular inspections of commercial lodging facilities, prosecute offenders strictly under BNS and PITA, and ensure safe shelter, legal aid, and socio-economic rehabilitation for rescued victims.
