Physical Assault on Woman Sub-Inspector (Kozhikode) 

Kozhikode: Kozhikode police arrested a 29-year-old native of Kasaragod for physically assaulting Sub-Inspector N. Leela while she was on night patrol duty in Nellikode. When instructed to step back after approaching inappropriately, the suspect seized and forcefully twisted the officer’s arm, inflicting severe injury. He was booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).  

Action to be Taken: The suspect was remanded to judicial custody following his appearance before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court. Following his arrest by Nadakkavu Police, the accused was produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-IV in Kozhikode and remanded to judicial custody under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) charges for using criminal force to deter a public servant and inflicting severe injury on an officer on duty. Investigators documented Sub-Inspector N. Leela’s medical reports from Beach Hospital and District Co-operative Hospital as physical evidence while simultaneously compiling the suspect’s prior criminal antecedents—including existing assault and public nuisance cases at local stations—to present a strong case and challenge potential bail applications.
