17-Year-Old Girl Sexual Assault Case – Kozhikode 

Kozhikode- Police arrested Sagesh Kumbali, described as a key member of an interstate drug network operating around Kozhikode, in connection with a case involving the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl. According to the report, the girl reached Elathur Police Station and gave a statement that became important to the investigation. A case was registered under the POCSO Act, and the investigation reportedly revealed allegations of exploitation of girls

The police should ensure a thorough and time-bound investigation, protect the minor’s identity and safety, and provide appropriate counselling and support through child-protection authorities. Evidence should be collected carefully and the case should be prosecuted under the applicable POCSO provisions.
