Woman assaulted by husband — Ranni, Pathanamthitta

Woman assaulted by husband — Ranni, Pathanamthitta

Pathanamthitta: A woman in Ranni complained that her husband allegedly assaulted her at their home. According to Manorama Online, the incident followed a dispute over food, and the woman submitted video evidence along with her complaint. Ranni police registered a case against the husband. The report also states that the woman alleged that such violence had occurred repeatedly.

Action to be taken:
Police should conduct a prompt and impartial investigation, ensure the woman’s immediate safety, and take appropriate legal action based on the evidence. Authorities should also assess the risk of further domestic violence and provide the survivor with access to counselling, legal assistance and other support services. Greater awareness of domestic-violence protections and quicker intervention in repeated abuse complaints can help prevent escalation.
