Alappuzha: A young woman in Aroor died by suicide after her proposed marriage was called off. Her relatives alleged that the fiancé and his family knew that she had warned him that she might die by suicide but did not inform her relatives. Police said further investigation was required before deciding whether a criminal case should be registered against the fiancé. The allegations have not been established as fact.
