Elderly Woman Robbed of Gold Chain at Her Home in Idukki
Idukki: Police arrested a 39-year-old man after an elderly woman reported that her 5.5-sovereign gold chain was allegedly snatched from her neck at her home in Chellarkovil. According to police, the man had approached the house asking for drinking water and allegedly took the chain before fleeing. His wife was also taken into custody on suspicion of involvement. Police continued searching for the stolen jewellery.
Action to Be Taken
Older people living alone should be cautious about allowing unknown persons into their homes and should contact police when suspicious behaviour or a theft occurs.
