Self-styled godman arrested over alleged sexual abuse of women and girls

Tamil Nadu: Police arrested a self-styled godman accused of sexually abusing women and minor girls while claiming to conduct occult rituals. Investigators allege that he secretly recorded some of the abuse and circulated or sold the recordings. Police are continuing the investigation to identify other possible victims and determine whether others were involved.

Women and girls subjected to sexual abuse or exploitation should be given immediate protection and access to medical, psychological and legal support. Any recordings connected to the abuse should be preserved as evidence and not redistributed.
