Man Jailed for Sexually Assaulting Girl Under 13
United Kingdom: Staffordshire Police announced that a man was sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 and four additional offences involving sexual touching of a girl under 13. The court also imposed a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order. The investigation began after a family member of the survivor contacted police.
Action to Be Taken
Children who experience sexual abuse should be encouraged to tell a trusted adult or appropriate authority, with investigations conducted using child-protection procedures.
