Youth Sentenced to 25 Years for Sexual Assault of Minor Girl
Wayanad: The Additional District and Sessions Court-I in Kalpetta sentenced a 28-year-old man to 25 years’ imprisonment and imposed a ₹1.10 lakh fine for repeatedly sexually assaulting a minor girl, resulting in her pregnancy. The case was registered in 2022, and the accused was later arrested after returning to Kerala from the Gulf.
Action to Be Taken
Children subjected to sexual abuse should receive long-term legal, psychological and social support, with their identities protected throughout court proceedings.
