Japan: A 20-year-old US Marine was arrested in Okinawa on suspicion of robbing and murdering a 39-year-old Japanese woman at a hotel in Naha. Police said the suspect allegedly took the woman’s wallet and backpack and later denied the allegations. Japan’s prime minister formally protested to the United States and called for full cooperation with the investigation.
