Woman and Young Son Killed in Valappad; Husband Under Investigation

Thrissur :A 24-year-old woman and her four-and-a-half-year-old son were found fatally injured at their home in Valappad. Police identified the woman as Vismaya and her husband as Vijeesh, who was also seriously injured after allegedly attempting suicide. According to the initial police investigation, the husband allegedly attacked his wife and child. Police registered a murder case and continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities should investigate suspected domestic violence promptly and ensure that people experiencing threats at home can access emergency protection, confidential counselling and legal assistance.
