Court Sentences Man to Death for Rape and Murder of Four-Year-Old Girl
Maharashtra :A fast-track court in Nashik sentenced Vijay Sanjay Khairnar to death for the rape and murder of a four-year-old girl. The court classified the crime as one of the “rarest of rare” cases. It also directed that ₹10 lakh be provided as financial assistance to the child’s family. The child’s identity is withheld to protect her privacy.
Action to Be Taken
Authorities should ensure that child-protection measures are enforced and that survivors and their families receive appropriate legal and psychological support. Children should be encouraged to report unsafe situations to trusted adults.
