Varkala (Thiruvananthapuram): A psychologist was detained after sexually abusing a young girl who had visited a private hospital for counseling. Santosh Sukumaran, 69, of Padanilam, Umayanallur, Kollam, made the arrest. The girl, who had visited the hospital for counseling with her mother, was allegedly raped multiple times, according to the police.
In this case, the girl was brought into the room under the guise of counseling after her mother was detained outside. The parents contacted another psychologist after observing behavioral changes in the girl. During the counseling that followed, the rape was discovered. After that, the parents complained to the police. From Thiruvananthapuram, the culprit was taken into custody.
The accused was produced in court and is remanded.
