Bank Employee Arrested for Attempted Murder of Woman Ahead of Wedding

Kothamangalam,Ernakulam: A 31-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a young woman, strangling her, and abandoning her in roadside bushes after believing she was dead. The accused, Nithin, a staff member of a leading private bank and a native of Chelad, was arrested by Pattimattom Police in connection with the incident that occurred in Kothamangalam on May 23. Ironically, his wedding to another woman was scheduled for the following day. Police arrested him while wedding preparations were underway, leading to the cancellation of the ceremony.

According to investigators, Nithin allegedly assaulted the woman, strangled her with a piece of cloth, tied her hands, and dumped her in a bushy area near Kothamangalam. The victim survived the attack and the accused was later booked under charges including attempted murder. Police said the investigation is continuing and further details are expected to emerge as the probe progresses. Primary reports suggests that the accused did such a crime out of anger towards the survivor for ruining his marriage.
