College Student Allegedly Attacked After Rejecting Marriage Proposal

Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh: A 19-year-old college student sustained critical injuries after she was allegedly attacked with a knife by a 21-year-old man on 27 June 2026. According to police, the accused and the victim had become acquainted through Instagram around four years ago. Police stated that the accused allegedly wanted to marry the student, but she had reportedly rejected his proposal and stopped communicating with him. Authorities allege that he confronted her on her way to work and attacked her before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, while police later arrested the accused. The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations remain subject to legal proceedings.
