Idukki: Asianet News reported on 15 August that police arrested a man in connection with the death of a 16-year-old student in Kumily. A post-mortem examination reportedly found evidence that the girl had been subjected to sexual abuse. Police registered a case under the POCSO Act against a male acquaintance, who was taken into custody as part of the investigation.
