Nedumangad House Fire Death

Thiruvananthapuram : Soumya, a native of Thekada, passed away while undergoing treatment for severe burn injuries at the hospital. The incident occurred on August 10 at around evening time at her rented home in Vattarthala, Aanaad Panchayat (Nedumangad), where she resided with her husband Saji and their 3-year-old child. Saji, who had returned from abroad a month ago, also sustained severe burns during the fire and remains admitted at the Medical College Hospital. Following the outbreak of the fire inside the house while both were present, a critically burned Soumya ran out and jumped into the courtyard well. Saji and relatives rescued her from the well and rushed her to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The exact origin and cause of the fire remain unknown.
