Nedumangad Toddler Murder Case: Accused Ashkar’s First Wife’s Family Alleges History of Brutal Abuse

Thiruvananthapuram: Shocking details continue to emerge in the murder investigation of a one-and-a-half-year-old boy in Nedumangad, with fresh allegations revealing a history of violence by the prime accused, Ashkar. According to reports, Ashkar’s first wife, Amina, was allegedly subjected to severe physical abuse that left her bedridden and unconscious for nearly a year.

Amina’s mother alleged that Ashkar repeatedly assaulted her daughter, banging her head against walls and even attempting to hang her from a ceiling fan. The prolonged abuse reportedly caused serious injuries, leaving Amina in a coma-like condition for months. She is currently undergoing treatment and has only recently shown signs of regaining memory and awareness.

The allegations surfaced amid the investigation into the death of toddler Arshid, who police say died after enduring sustained physical abuse. Post-mortem findings revealed dozens of injuries across the child’s body, including signs of repeated assault and internal bleeding. Ashkar and the child’s mother, Akhila, have been arrested in connection with the case.
