Bengaluru, Karnataka: Police have arrested a couple in connection with the alleged murder of their 11-month-old daughter after an investigation contradicted their initial claim that the child died from falling off a bed. According to police, the father initially reported that the infant had accidentally fallen while her mother was asleep. However, the post-mortem examination revealed multiple internal injuries and excessive internal bleeding that were inconsistent with a fall from the bed. During the investigation, police alleged that the couple had been arguing when the father, in a fit of anger, threw the baby to the ground, causing fatal injuries. Authorities have registered a murder case against both parents. The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations remain subject to legal proceedings.
Action to Be Taken
Parents and caregivers experiencing severe stress or domestic conflict should seek timely support from family members, counsellors, or mental health professionals to help prevent violence. Any suspected case of child abuse should be reported immediately to the police or child protection authorities. Prompt investigation and early intervention are essential to safeguard children and ensure accountability.
