Private Bus Driver and Cleaner Convicted in POCSO Case

Kozhikode: A Fast Track Special Court convicted a private bus driver and cleaner in a POCSO case involving the sexual assault of a minor girl. According to the prosecution, the incident occurred in 2024 while the child was travelling on a private bus from Thamarassery to Kozhikode. The case came to light after the child disclosed the abuse during a school counselling session, following which police registered a case and completed the investigation. Based on the evidence presented during the trial, the court found both accused guilty under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and sentenced them to rigorous imprisonment.
