Seven-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Raped by Neighbour in Rajasthan 

Rajasthan: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Barmer district of Rajasthan. According to the police, the accused lured the child on the pretext of showing her a house and took her to a secluded place where the assault allegedly took place. After the child informed her family, they immediately approached the police. A case was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused was arrested, and the survivor was provided with medical care. The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of children and women in residential neighbourhoods.

The investigation should be completed quickly, and the case should be heard in a fast-track court to ensure timely justice. The survivor must receive medical treatment, counselling, and legal support. Schools and communities should conduct regular child safety awareness programmes, educate children about personal safety, and encourage the public to report suspicious activities promptly to help prevent such crimes.
