Supreme Court Panel to Prioritise Sexual-Assault Complaints by Women Protesters

New Delhi: The Supreme Court said a high-powered committee examining allegations of police excesses during NEET-related protests would prioritise complaints of sexual assault faced by women protesters. The court also said the committee had been asked to submit an interim report on the issue. The allegations concern incidents reported during a July 20 protest at Jantar Mantar.
Action to Be Taken
Women who experience sexual assault during public demonstrations should report the incident through the designated investigation mechanism and seek medical, legal and support services.
