Thrissur: police arrested five men near the Guruvayur Temple who were plotting to murder a female spa employee at her ladies’ hostel. The main suspect planned the attack after the victim ended her relationship with him. To bypass security and enter the women’s hostel, the gang planned to disguise themselves as women. Police intercepted the suspects in a vehicle near Guruvayur Temple, where they were also seized with cannabis.
Action to be Taken
Following their interception near Guruvayur Temple while attempting to sell cannabis to minors, the police formally booked all five suspects under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal conspiracy and plot to murder, the NDPS Act for drug possession, and the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, subsequently producing them before the magistrate who remanded them into judicial custody. Law enforcement also secured the seized contraband and vehicle as evidentiary material, while simultaneously alerting the ladies’ hostel management and implementing protective measures for the targeted female spa worker to prevent further safety threats.
