West Bengal Murder Accused Arrested in Perumbavoor After Months in Hiding

Ernakulam: A man wanted in connection with the murder of his wife in West Bengal was arrested in Perumbavoor after months of evading law enforcement authorities.

The accused, identified as Rahul, a native of Murshidabad district in West Bengal, was taken into custody by a special police team operating under the Perumbavoor ASP. According to investigators, he had been staying in Perumbavoor and working as a helper after fleeing his home state following the alleged crime.

Police said the murder took place in February within the limits of Domjur Police Station in Howrah district, West Bengal. Following the incident, the accused allegedly escaped from the state and travelled to Kerala, where he remained hidden while taking up temporary employment.

Acting on intelligence inputs and information shared between police agencies, the special investigation team traced the suspect to Perumbavoor and arrested him. Officials said coordinated efforts between Kerala Police and West Bengal Police played a key role in locating the fugitive.

After completing the necessary procedures, the accused was handed over to West Bengal Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.

Police said the arrest highlights the effectiveness of interstate cooperation in tracking down suspects attempting to evade justice by moving across state borders.
