Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped by Three Men While Returning Home

Bihar: A woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three men while she was returning home in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. According to police, the accused intercepted the victim, forcibly took her to a secluded location, and sexually assaulted her before fleeing. Following the survivor’s complaint, an FIR was registered, and police launched a search operation to arrest the accused. The survivor was sent for medical examination, and the investigation is ongoing.  

Action to be Taken: 

Authorities should ensure the immediate arrest of all accused, conduct a speedy and impartial investigation, and prosecute the case through a fast-track court. The survivor should receive medical treatment, trauma counselling, legal aid, and protection throughout the investigation and trial. Police should also strengthen patrolling in vulnerable areas and encourage prompt reporting of sexual offences.
