Youth arrested in Kollam POCSO case involving alleged sexual abuse of minor

Kollam: Police arrested a young man in a POCSO case after a 16-year-old girl alleged that he sexually abused her after promising marriage. The complaint also alleges that he kept private images of the girl on his phone. Police located and arrested the accused after he reportedly went into hiding following registration of the case, and a court remanded him in custody.
Action to Be Taken
Children facing sexual abuse should receive immediate protection, medical care, confidential counselling and legal support. Their identity must be protected throughout the investigation and court process.
