Youth Posing as Fake IPS Officer Arrested for Allegedly Sexually Assaulting Minor
Kottayam: Kottayam police arrested a 21-year-old man who allegedly posed as an IPS officer on Instagram to befriend a minor girl and sexually assault her. Police said the incident came to light after the girl became pregnant. A case was registered under the POCSO Act and other provisions, and further investigation is continuing.
Action to Be Taken
Parents and guardians should encourage children to report suspicious online contacts and should immediately inform police or child-protection authorities when sexual abuse is suspected.
